The Cross Keys Indians's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 33-26 victory over Cottage. This was payback for Cross Keys, who suffered a 26-23 defeat the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Cottage lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alyssa Briggs. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The game was Briggs' 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Pressnall, who scored eight points.
Cross Keys' victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Cottage, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
