Saks is 2-8 against Piedmont since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Saks Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Piedmont Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Saks is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Saks suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They were beaten by Oxford 80-38. While losing is never fun, Saks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Oxford is ranked 88th).
Meanwhile, Piedmont pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jacksonville. Piedmont has not had much luck with Jacksonville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Saks' defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Piedmont, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8.
Saks came up short against Piedmont in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 71-62. Can Saks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
