The Kingman Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Medicine Lodge Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Kingman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Kingman unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Independent. While losing is never fun, Kingman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Panthers are ranked 87th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tristen Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Chase Webster was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Medicine Lodge had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They took down Chaparral 50-34.
Kingman's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Medicine Lodge, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Kingman won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, slipping by the Indians 55-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kingman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
