Peninsula has gone a perfect 4-0 against Lakes recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Seahawks will head out on the road to challenge the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Peninsula's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Lakes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Peninsula easily dispatched Timberline on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Seahawks fell just short of North Thurston by a score of 4-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Seahawks have suffered since May 1, 2024.
Peninsula saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Sleeter, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Lakes can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on Eatonville with a sharp 10-4 win. The Lancers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th.
Aaron Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lakes is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-7 otherwise. Miller was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Carlos Gabriel Serrano was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Derek Doss was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Lakes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Peninsula, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3-1.
Peninsula took their win against Lakes in their previous meeting back in May of 2016 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Seahawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
