The Cedar Park Timberwolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Shoemaker Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Cedar Park was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lago Vista on Friday. The Timberwolves never let the Vikings get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Timberwolves as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ellie Massey tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Lilly Dornak was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Leeah Vogan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Cedar Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, Shoemaker had to make due with a tie. Neither they nor Burnet could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The Wolves' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
With that tie, Shoemaker's record moves to 6-6-2. As for Cedar Park, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Shoemaker's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cedar Park hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. It's a different story for Shoemaker, though, as they've only averaged .245. Will they be able to contain Cedar Park's hitters?
Cedar Park might still be hurting after the 10-1 defeat they got from Shoemaker when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Timberwolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
