Decatur is a perfect 6-0 against Hartford since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Raiders will take on the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Hartford took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Decatur, who comes in off a win.
Decatur is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Marcellus on Thursday. On the hitting side, Rowan Bradford was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Decatur's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Daniel Northrup also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Hartford suffered their biggest loss since March 26th on Saturday. They lost 14-4 to Brandywine. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost seven in a row.
Hartford saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Perales, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Jaylin Bachman was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Decatur's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Hartford, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Decatur hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Hartford struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Decatur was able to grind out a solid victory over Hartford in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 14-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
