The Goleman Gators will head out on the road to take on the Palmetto Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Goleman is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
On Monday, Goleman earned a 44-37 win over Miami Beach.
Jasmin Brown and Akayla Edwards were among the main playmakers for Goleman as the former scored seven points along with nine steals and seven rebounds and the latter scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ava Berman, who scored three points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Palmetto scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 79-9 victory over Killian. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Palmetto considering their 25-point performance the matchup before.
Palmetto had a senior duo take command as Sami Anes dropped a triple-double on ten points, ten rebounds, and 12 steals and Annalise Lindsay dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. Anes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ale Falcon, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Goleman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Palmetto's record now sits at 9-4.
Wednesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Goleman have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 18 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Palmetto, though, as they've been averaging only 34.2 rebounds per game. Given Goleman's sizeable advantage in that area, Palmetto will need to find a way to close that gap.
Goleman was taken down by Palmetto 70-11 in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Can Goleman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
