Shiloh Christian is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since October 7, 2024 on Monday. They lost 3-0 to Southside. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Mavericks: they've now lost eight in a row.
While Shiloh Christian ultimately came up short, they really made Southside work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 28-26, 25-20.
Shiloh Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bristol Bonanno, who had 16 digs and one assist, and Kennedy Brown, who had 13 assists and two aces. Those aces were Brown's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Van Buren came up short against Southside two weeks ago, falling 3-0.
Van Buren was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Southside work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-19, 25-20.
Van Buren's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Shiloh Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
