After failing to score in their last contest, Fairmont made sure to put some goals up on the board against Springfield on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 5-0 victory. Given Fairmont's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Springfield are ranked 367th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fairmont's win bumped their record up to 6-4-5. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11-2.
