Mt. Vernon is 1-6 against Wood Memorial since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mt. Vernon Wildcats will be playing at home against the Wood Memorial Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Mt. Vernon has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 13.
Last Saturday, Mt. Vernon ended up a good deal behind Forest Park and lost 44-29. Mt. Vernon has struggled against Forest Park recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Arlissa Sharber put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wood Memorial scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Shoals, posting a 72-13 win at home. The victory was just what Wood Memorial needed coming off of a 71-41 loss in their prior contest.
Mt. Vernon has been struggling recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season. As for Wood Memorial, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Things could have been worse for Mt. Vernon, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-24 loss to Wood Memorial when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will Mt.
