The Amador Valley Dons will head out to take on the San Ramon Valley Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Amador Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
While Amador Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on California with a sharp 12-0 victory on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
Brennan Baptist tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gavin Whalley was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Vince Maiorana, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Amador Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as California only posted a batting average of .200.
San Ramon Valley had taken Livermore down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. San Ramon Valley fell 5-2 to Livermore. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
San Ramon Valley also got a good showing from Bryce Monte, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.
At the plate, San Ramon Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mitch Nelson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Nelson's first of the season.
San Ramon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Amador Valley, their record now sits at 7-2.
San Ramon Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Amador Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. It's a different story for San Ramon Valley, though, as they've only averaged .334. Will they be able to contain Amador Valley's hitters?
Amador Valley came up short against San Ramon Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 5-0. Can Amador Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
