Davis is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will host the Syracuse Titans at 7:00 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 959 yards in their previous games.
Davis is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: American Fork, who was ranked eighth at the time (Davis was ranked third). The Darts took down the Cavemen 29-15 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Darts as they're now sitting on four straight.

Tradon Bessinger
09/19/25 @ American Fork | 435 |
11/08/24 @ Skyridge | 434 |
08/30/24 vs Mountain Ridge | 425 |
08/29/25 vs Mountain Ridge | 423 |
10/04/24 vs Layton | 405 |
Tradon Bessinger produced another solid effort throwing for 435 yards and four TDs while completing 76.1% of his passes. Those 435 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Bode Sparrow was Bessinger's top target, picking up 101 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Davis didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited American Fork to a completion percentage of just 48.5%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Sparrow and Isaac Morrison, who each logged one passes deflected. Given Bessinger's standout performance, it's clear American Fork's secondary just wasn't on the same level.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Syracuse). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 52-7 win over Layton. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Titans with their most commanding win of the season.
Davis better keep an eye on Ledger Wight. He was instrumental in Syracuse's win, rushing for 162 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 137 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. With that strong performance, Wight is now averaging an impressive 108.5 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Ryker Van Komen, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Syracuse's defense and their three sacks. Ben Cook refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Layton's side was Kaleb Hall, who made three total tackles and snagged three interceptions.
Syracuse's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Davis, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-1.
The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. Davis has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 379.5 passing yards per game. Syracuse, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 224 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Everything came up roses for Davis against Syracuse when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-10 victory. Do the Darts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
