The Pike Central Chargers lost against the North Posey Vikings back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The game between Pike Central and North Posey wasn't particularly close, with Pike Central falling 66-49. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pike Central in their matchups with North Posey: they've now lost four in a row.
Pike Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Gish, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Dawson, who scored seven points.
Pike Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for North Posey, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Pike Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tecumseh at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th. Tecumseh will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Pike Central is ranked 158th). As for North Posey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
