Aubrey Rogers is 0-3 against Gulf Coast since August of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Aubrey Rogers turned things around against Bonita Springs on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bullsharks.
Aubrey Rogers walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-16.
Aubrey Rogers' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Chiara Gagliano, who had eight digs and four aces, and Adeline Sundall, who had five digs and two aces. What's more, Sundall racked up 17 assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.
They weren't the only good servers: Aubrey Rogers was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Gulf Coast was able to grind out a solid victory over Oasis on Saturday, taking the game 2-0.
While Gulf Coast won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-18.
Aubrey Rogers' record now sits at 9-10. As for Gulf Coast, their record is now 16-4.
Aubrey Rogers might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Gulf Coast in their previous matchup back in August. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
