The Crawford Rams were the 38-35 winner over the Hay Springs Hawks when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Crawford had to suffer through a rough 67-39 loss at the hands of Hay Springs. Crawford found out winning isn't easy when you make five fewer threes than your opponent.
Taylor Homan was Crawford's leading scorer, having posted 14 points. Homan also led the team in assists with three.
Carter Rudloff held things down on the boards with 14 rebounds.
Gage Mintken continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hay Springs, scoring 27 points along with four steals and two blocks. Mintken is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Young, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Crawford's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Hay Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crawford will take on Hemingford on Friday. As for Hay Springs, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Garden County on February 9th. Hay Springs is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.
