After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three matchups, Dodge County finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They took a 37-23 bruising from Sumter County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dodge County has scored all season.
Dodge County's loss came about despite a quality game from Lyric Green, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Green is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Berrien won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 65-40 loss at the hands of Sumter County. While losing is never fun, Berrien can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Sumter County is ranked 87th).
Dodge County's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4. As for Berrien, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
