Softball Recap: South Point Wins Going Away Against Green

South Point won the last time they faced Green and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Pointers put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 13-3 win. The Pointers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.

Kota Copley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Copley was also big at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, South Point let Alli Stidham and Adyson Copley run wild. Stidham went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Copley went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Stidham has posted since back in April. Kaylee Stidham was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

South Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matchups.

South Point's record is now 13-6. As for Green, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

South Point will take on Gallia Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Green does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
