Basketball Recap: Rise Kohyang Drops Highest Score of Season Against Stern

Rise Kohyang scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 69-58 to the Stern Titans. The Tritons haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Rise Kohyang lost, don't look at Mario Lazo. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidney Sellick, who had 14 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Rise Kohyang was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Stern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jr Romero led the charge by putting up 22 points and seven steals. Romero is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. David Garcia was another key player, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards.

Rise Kohyang's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Stern, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Rise Kohyang wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-50 loss against Animo De La Hoya on the 10th. As for Stern, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-36 win against Los Angeles Leadership Academy on the 10th.
