The Charleston Math & Science Riptide were the 35-32 winner over the Baptist Hill Bobcats when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Charleston Math & Science fell 49-40 to the Bobcats on Monday. Charleston Math & Science's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Several Riptide players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sarah Brown, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Dalailyn Reed, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and six blocks.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Baptist Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sharice Blufton, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malaya Hill, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Charleston Math & Science's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Baptist Hill, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charleston Math & Science will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Military Magnet Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday. As for Baptist Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cross focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
