The Shaw Cardinals suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 54-11 loss at the hands of Villa Angela-St. Joseph. Shaw was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-7.
Villa Angela-St. Joseph found their leader in underclassman Elizabeth Dunmire, who scored 20 points along with five assists and three steals. Kya Bell was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Shaw has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Shaw on the road again on Wednesday and play against Our Lady of the Elms at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Our Lady of the Elms has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
