Southampton came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Brunswick Bulldogs with a sharp 18-1 victory. Considering the Indians have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Zoe Banks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kayla Brooks and Reagan D'Arco did most of the damage at the plate: Brooks went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while D'Arco went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI D'Arco has posted since back in April of 2024. Paisley Benson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.
