Hampton Park Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lake Pointe Academy Mariners at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Hampton Park Christian posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They blew past Westgate Christian 62-29 at home. Given Hampton Park Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Westgate Christian is ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Lake Pointe Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Grace Christian 67-13 on the road. The victory was just what Lake Pointe Academy needed coming off of a 72-35 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Pointe Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Mayhall, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mayhall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Luke, who scored 14 points.
Hampton Park Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Lake Pointe Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Hampton Park Christian against Lake Pointe Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-21 win.
