1A South Central recap Oct. 30, 2012
Taylor Thoman and Josh Wiggins provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Byers. The connection was good for 81 yards, the longest such play in 1A South Central this season.
Limon extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Crowley County, 56-14. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
The Chargers' dynamic duo of Herman Ross and Nathan Baylor proved tough for Limon to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ross threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns and Baylor had 111 yards receiving. Ryan Haynes helped Crowley County's passing attack out by catching one ball for 40 yards.
Ryan Imber was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 184 yards as the Bulldogs lost to Mike O'Dwyer's team. Teammate Cody Kirby added to the ground attack by rushing for 104 yards.
ADAM BACA made the biggest impact on defense this week as Rocky Ford fell to Burlington. The 5-foot-8 junior recorded one fumble.
Tyrel Davies' team's Ross and Baylor have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 1A South Central in both passing and receiving yards. Ross has thrown for 1161 yards this season, while Baylor, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 23 catches for 486 yards. Imber from Byers leads the league in rushing with 1071 yards.
The Badgers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on the Chargers. Gavin Liggett threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 68 yards in the win.
