The Excel Panthers will take on the Flomaton Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Excel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Excel beat W.S. Neal 8-4.
Avery Duke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Emilee Gulsby was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lillian Martin, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Excel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Flomaton came up short against Blacksher on Thursday, falling 16-2. The Hurricanes have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Flomaton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe White, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Excel has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Flomaton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Excel beat Flomaton 10-6 when the teams last played back in March. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
