In what's become a running theme this season, the Mechanicsville Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Patrick Henry 55-19 at home. The win was just what Mechanicsville needed coming off of a 71-34 defeat in their prior contest.
Mechanicsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizabeth Hardwick, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Hardwick has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kedelin Santos, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Mechanicsville's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Patrick Henry, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mechanicsville will play host again and welcome the Raiders, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Patrick Henry, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m.
