The Rayne Wolves pushed their score all the way to 32 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 53-32 defeat at the hands of Leesville. Rayne has struggled against Leesville recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Xavier Ford was his usual excellent self, rushing for 316 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Ford is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Izaiah Farley was another key contributor, picking up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Rayne's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Leesville, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Rayne will head out on the road to face off against Opelousas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Opelousas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rayne in Louisiana (Opelousas is ranked 44th, while Rayne is ranked 145th). As for Leesville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against St. Martinville at 7:00 p.m. St. Martinville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
