Basketball Recap: C.B. Aycock Piles Up the Points Against Wake Forest

C.B. Aycock saw some tournament action on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wake Forest Cougars 69-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Falcons.

C.B. Aycock can attribute much of their success to Janeson Steele, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Steele has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dominick Jones, who earned 11 points.

Wake Forest lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Palmer Chase, who put up ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of N'Ky Johnson, who had seven points and three steals.

C.B. Aycock has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Wake Forest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

C.B. Aycock didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-49 defeat against South Granville on the 30th. As for Wake Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-56 loss against Crossroads Christian on the 30th.
