Holcomb had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let the Gideon Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 21-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won 13 matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Holcomb's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Gideon, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Holcomb didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 22-0 win against North Pemiscot on the 27th. As for Gideon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Campbell at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Camels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.84 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
