  Krista King made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. King has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  hit in three consecutive pitching appearances. King was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Lilly Goforth was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, three  runs,  and four  RBI while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Bri Cody, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Giles made easy work of Parry McCluer  on Thursday and carried off  a  10-1 victory.
 Fort Chiswell's win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 14-8. As for Giles, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record  this season.
