With a playoff game on the line, Cypress Lake rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They took down the Tritons 61-42.
Cypress Lake found their leader in underclassman Lilly Witz, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Witz has scored all season. Nessiah Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Port Charlotte scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Island Coast 95-15 at home. Port Charlotte has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.
Cypress Lake's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Port Charlotte, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season.
Cypress Lake was taken down by Port Charlotte 74-16 when the teams last played back in November of 2020. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cypress Lake was down 38-14.
