Ches-Mont - National recap Oct. 30, 2012
Downingtown East extended the longest winning streak in Ches-Mont - National this week by beating East, 48-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Coatesville was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Downingtown West. The Red Raiders came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Henderson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. James Bady threw for 147 and one touchdown and Spencer Rymiszewski had 107 yards receiving. On the ground Rymiszewski chipped in 145 yards. Phil Mitten helped Henderson's passing attack out by catching two balls for 27 yards.
Downingtown East's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kyle Lauletta has thrown for 2014 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, while Chris Beals has 40 catches for 681 yards. Ryley Angeline leads the league in rushing with 753 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Downingtown East takes on second place Henderson. Last week, Downingtown East beat the Vikings, while the Warriors defeated Avon Grove.
Two of the top units in Ches-Mont - National will face off this week when Mike Matta's team takes on Henderson. The Cougars' offense has scored 301 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Steve Mitten's team has allowed only 78 on the year.
