Chadwick has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Flintridge Prep Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Chadwick strolled past Windward with points to spare, taking the game 40-26. Given Chadwick's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Windward is ranked 26th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chadwick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Goodman led the charge by rushing for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards. Goodman really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Max Polin was in the mix too, providing Chadwick with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Flintridge Prep put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Sage Hill by a score of 47-34.
Noah Willingham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 382 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 18.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 47 receiving yards. Willingham hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Sage Hill to a paltry 98 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Flintridge Prep's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Nico Chapman and his three sacks.
Chadwick's victory was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.3 points per game. As for Flintridge Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Chadwick and Flintridge Prep haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Chadwick commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.9 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Flintridge Prep struggles in that department as they've been even better at 6.9 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Chadwick strolled past Flintridge Prep in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 44-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chadwick since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
