It was a good run, but the Wellpinit Redskins unfortunately witnessed the end of their 23-game winning streak dating back to last season on Thursday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Lakeside an easy 77-54 win. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wellpinit has scored all season.
Lakeside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyson Charley out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Charley is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Hendrix, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Wellpinit's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1. As for Lakeside, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Wellpinit will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Odessa at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. The timing isn't great for Odessa: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Wellpinit has snatched up 11 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season. Lakeside will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bonners Ferry at 2:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
