Illini West's Brody Gronewold recorded the longest rushing play in West Central this season in his game against Tremont last week. Gronewold ran for 89 yards on the play and finished with 150 on the day as his team topped the Turks.
Monmouth-Roseville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating St. Bede, 40-27. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
West Hancock co-op [Hamilton/Warsaw]'s Coy Dorothy and Austin Hardy have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dorothy has thrown for 2581 yards this season, while Hardy, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 59 catches for 974 yards. Illini West's Ben Gittings leads the league in rushing yards with 940.
Illini West's Gittings needs only 60 yards against Central next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
Orion moved up to 139 from 221 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in West Central. The Chargers climbed the ranks as a result of topping Pearl City-Eastland 31-24.
