The Catoctin Cougars came tearing into Tuesday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Boonsboro 64-44. Catoctin has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Samantha Orndorff was nothing short of spectacular: she scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Harley Fitzpatrick, who scored 14 points.
Catoctin pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Boonsboro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Catoctin won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Linganore at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Linganore has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 218 points over their last three matchups. As for Boonsboro, they will square off against North Hagerstown at TBD on Friday. Boonsboro is facing North Hagerstown at the right time seeing as North Hagerstown is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
