Onalaska is 2-8 against Trinity since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Onalaska Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Trinity Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Onalaska knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Trinity likes a good challenge.
Even though Onalaska has not done well against Shepherd recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Onalaska walked away with a 69-59 win over Shepherd. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bryan Wyatt was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Leleux, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Trinity had to settle for a 46-43 loss against New Waverly on Friday. Trinity has struggled against New Waverly recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Onalaska now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Trinity, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Onalaska skirted past Trinity 60-57 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Onalaska repeat their success, or does Trinity have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
