The West Liberty-Salem Tigers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They breezed by Bellefontaine at home to the tune of 66-29. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-13.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Liberty-Salem to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lilly Weaver, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Astorino, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals.
West Liberty-Salem's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Bellefontaine, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
West Liberty-Salem will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Northeastern at 7:00 p.m. As for Bellefontaine, they will head out on the road to face off against Indian Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
