Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Lindsay's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Lindsay won the last time they faced Era and things went their way on Friday too. The Knights never let the Hornets get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

EmmaRae Cox and Kylie Hielckert did most of the damage at the plate: Cox went 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three RBI, while Hielckert scored three runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits Hielckert has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Swaney, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Lindsay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Era only posted an OBP of .077.

Lindsay is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Era, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

Coming up, Lindsay will take on Muenster at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least ten runs in their last ten contests. As for Era, they will face off against Alvord at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
