The Countryside Cougars won the last time they faced the Seminole Warhawks, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Countryside blew past Seminole 61-34 at home. With that win, Countryside brought their scoring average up to 52.3 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Countryside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ally Wright, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Wright is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kennedy Brooks was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Seminole lost, one person who can't be blamed is Laney Pearson. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds. Pearson scored a full 61.8% of Seminole's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Countryside now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Seminole, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Countryside will head out on the road to face off against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seminole, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Lake at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
