The Lee Generals pushed their score all the way to 67 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 81-67 fall against Abingdon. Even though they lost, Lee's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
When it comes to explaining why Lee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cassidy Hammonds. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with four steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Bailie Hughes, who scored nine points.
Lee's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Abingdon, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lee is on the road again on Friday and play against Ridgeview at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Ridgeview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lee in Virginia (Ridgeview is ranked 32nd, while Lee is ranked 311th). As for Abingdon, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Wise at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Wise has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 391 points over their last six matchups.
