5A Region II District 14 recap November 5, 2013
Brandon Jackson of A&M Consolidated ran for the longest rushing play in 5A Region II District 14 this season against Conroe last week. Jackson's team topped the Tigers as he sprinted for 80 yards on the play and finished with 114 in all.
Fans got a thrill when Kobe Miller and Kerry Thomas connected against Conroe. The connection went for 77 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
A&M Consolidated's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Miller threw for 275 and 3 touchdowns and Thomas had 173 yards receiving. On the ground Jackson chipped in 114 yards. Daniel Zivney helped A&M Consolidated's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 53 yards.
He went 15-18 with 0 interceptions.
Thomas was the best wideout in the league this week as David Raffield's team defeated Robert Walker's team. Thomas racked up 6 receptions for 173 yards. Zivney helped A&M Consolidated's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 53 yards.
A&M Consolidated's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Miller has thrown for 2,662 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, while Thomas has 63 catches for 940 yards.
The top two teams in 5A Region II District 14 will face off this week when first place The Woodlands takes on second place Oak Ridge. Last week, The Woodlands topped College Park, while Oak Ridge fell to Lufkin.
So far this year, he has garnered 63 catches for 940 yards.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, the Highlanders beat the Cavaliers 31-10. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
