Arlington Catholic (Arlington, Mass.) took the lead for good when
Jp Whelan thew a touchdown to
Kyle Bairos with 7:00 to go in the third quarter and held on to beat
Arlington (Mass.) 19-14 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown, the Spy Ponders went into halftime with a 14-13 lead. The Cougars took the lead for good with a Whelan touchdown pass to Bairos in the third quarter.
Bairos was the top performer for Arlington Catholic. The junior wide receiver caught two touchdowns.
Coming into the game AC had allowed 28.1 points per game this year.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Cougars came away with a 28-7 victory.
The loss comes after Arlington defeated Belmont 21-7 last week. The win was a nice bounce back for Arlington Catholic, which lost to Bishop Fenwick last week, 24-13.
