Caleb Franco was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Franco was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Casen Williford was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Braxton Ice, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Lindsay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pilot Point only posted a batting average of .259.
The win got Lindsay back to even at 1-1. As for Pilot Point, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
Coming up, Lindsay will face off against Saint Jo at 5:00 p.m. on March 4th. As for Pilot Point, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats face off against the Tigers at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
