Moberly is 2-8 against Kirksville since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Moberly Spartans on the road again and play against the Kirksville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Moberly focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
Moberly pushed their score all the way to 68, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to Fulton.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cameron Doubrava, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Bivins, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Even though they lost, Moberly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Kirksville posted their closest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-45 victory over Westran.
Moberly has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Kirksville, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Moberly was taken down by Kirksville 79-47 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Moberly avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
