Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but East Duplin had to settle for a 54-51 defeat against Richlands.
East Duplin's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zachary Ball, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, and Jeremiah Judge who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Judge scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Hall, who scored two points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, East Duplin were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, even though West Columbus scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Heide Trask still came out on top. The stars were shining brightly for Heide Trask in a 73-55 victory over West Columbus.
Myron Mckoy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with six assists and three steals. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Gio Driggers was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 13 rebounds.
East Duplin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Heide Trask, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: East Duplin have been dynamite from deep this season, having only nailed 30.5% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Heide Trask struggles in that department as they've nailed 41.8% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
