Mason is a perfect 10-0 against Sycamore since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aviators at 5:00 p.m. Mason will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Mason's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Middletown 7-0. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Andrew Visconti tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Cade Landheer and Chase Cox did most of the damage at the plate: Landheer went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Cox went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Landheer has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Hutch Crociata, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Mason hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sycamore, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past Hamilton 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Aviators have posted since April 6, 2024.
Mason's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sycamore, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Mason was able to grind out a solid victory over Sycamore when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 10-6. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aviators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
