The Richmond Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Floyd Central Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Richmond had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed by Jay County on the road to the tune of 61-20. With Richmond ahead 39-9 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Richmond got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cedric Horton out in front who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Carpenter, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Floyd Central beat Meade County 53-47 on Tuesday.
Floyd Central can attribute much of their success to Brock Conrad, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds, and Nathan Rushing, who scored 15 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Carter Mcquigg, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Richmond's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Floyd Central, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
