Selinsgrove is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Jersey Shore is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Selinsgrove Seals will take on the Jersey Shore Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Selinsgrove had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Shikellamy at home to the tune of 58-10. Given Selinsgrove's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Shikellamy is ranked 415th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Selinsgrove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tucker Teats, who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Teats was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Another player making a difference was Mark Pastore, who threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.
Meanwhile, Jersey Shore was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Milton 54-6 at home.
Jersey Shore can attribute much of their success to Tate Sechrist, who rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns, and Elijah Jordan, who gained 177 total yards and four touchdowns. Sechrist is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerrin Loomis, who threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 10-0-1 season records intact.
