HOOVER, Ala. -
Hoover (Ala.) snapped the 11-game winning streak of
Auburn (Ala.), with a 20-3 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a punt return touchdown by
Jack Hutcheson in the first quarter, the Buccaneers were up 7-0 at the half.
Hoover grew its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS's lone score in the quarter came on a Hutcheson touchdown pass to
Bradrick Shaw.
With the win the Buccaneers extended their winning streak to 16 games. Hoover defeated Vestavia Hills 31-28 last week.
Led by
Marlon Humphrey, Hoover came into the game allowing 10.5 points per game. Auburn's three points were well below their season average of 35.9 per game.
The loss comes after Auburn defeated McGill-Toolen 24-21 last week.
