Mundelein won the last time they faced Fremd and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Vikings a 4-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Mundelein got a great performance from Baris Brua as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Brua has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Johnny Weiss was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Caden Earing was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Mundelein's record is now 18-6-2. As for Fremd, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 22-1-1.

Mundelein and Fremd should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Mustangs (ranked 43rd) will meet Waukegan (ranked 560th) at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Fremd will square off against Schaumburg at 4:45 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (6 vs. 348).
